Nagasaki Dejima Wharf

Dejima Wharf is a comprehensive amusement spot facing Nagasaki Bay. Not only can you shop and dine here, but you can also enjoy jogging, running, and even walking with pets. On a fine day, the sea breeze feels wonderful and you can enjoy a café lunch on the terrace seats with a picnic-like atmosphere. It is also recommended to stop by for dinner: the view of ships moored in Nagasaki Bay and the illuminated port scenery makes it an excellent night-view spot. Popular not only with locals but also with tourists from outside the prefecture, Dejima Wharf functions as a central base for sightseeing in Nagasaki. Access by car is about 1 minute from the Nagasaki Expressway “Nagasaki IC” via the Nagasaki Dejima Road, and about 5 minutes by car from JR Nagasaki Station. By public transportation, take the tram from JR Nagasaki Station (Nagasaki Station-mae stop) on Line 1 bound for Shofukuji, get off at “Dejima” stop, then walk about 2 minutes. It is also about a 15-minute walk from JR Nagasaki Station. The “Nagasaki Sightseeing Route Bus” operated by Nagasaki Bus is convenient for touring major attractions such as Glover Garden, Oura Cathedral, Oranda-zaka, Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown, Dejima, Peace Park, and the Atomic Bomb Museum.
