Inasayama Observatory
Inasayama Observatory is a viewpoint located inside Inasayama Park, a recreational area beloved by local Nagasaki residents as a relaxing place to spend time. At the Night View Summit held in 2012 by the Night View Tourism Convention Bureau, Nagasaki was selected as one of the “New Top 3 Night Views in the World,” alongside Hong Kong and Monaco. From the Inasayama Summit Observatory at an elevation of 333 meters, you can see as far as Unzen Fugendake, the Amakusa Islands, and even the Goto Islands, while the jewel-like nightscape of Nagasaki City spreads out below. It is a true 360-degree panoramic viewpoint where you can enjoy an unforgettable night view experience. Access to Inasayama Observatory by public transportation is from the JR Nagasaki Station-mae bus terminal: take Nagasaki Bus Route 5 bound for Inasayama, get off at the final stop “Inasayama,” which is right nearby. By car, it is about 15 minutes (around 5.5 km) from Nagasaki Station via Shin-Urakami Kaido and National Route 202. From the mid-slope parking area, a walking path leads up to the summit observatory (about 800 meters, around 15 minutes on foot).
