Active Resorts MIYAGI ZAO

Active Resorts Miyagi Zao is a resort hotel at the foot of the Zao mountain range, surrounded by rich nature. Nearby are many sightseeing and activity spots, including Okama crater. With access of about 70 minutes by car from central Sendai, it’s popular for family and group trips. Nearby attractions include Zao Heartland (a farm where you can try experiences like milking) and ZAO Base (offering activity tours such as canyoning and SUP), both about 10–15 minutes by car. Miyagi’s largest ski area, Eboshi Resort, is about 30 minutes away by car. The hotel’s bath uses Togatta Onsen water called “Fudo no Yu,” with a legend of benefits for legs and lower back. Both the open-air bath and large bath are spacious, and the open feel helps wash away fatigue. Rooms include Western, Japanese, and Japanese-Western styles, with some offering views of the Zao range. Access by bus: a Miyagi Kotsu highway bus runs from Sendai Station West Exit bus terminal platform 33. A free shuttle bus is also available, but requires reservation by 16:00 three days in advance.
