Anpanman Baikinman stone statue

The Anpanman & Baikinman Stone Statues are located near Harimaya Bridge in Kochi Prefecture. Kochi is the home region of Takashi Yanase, creator of Anpanman, so you can find Anpanman characters all over the area. Start at Kochi Tabi Hiroba, where there are Anpanman benches (including Shokupanman and Baikinman versions). Walking toward Harimaya Bridge, you’ll encounter Dokin-chan, and near the bridge you can find stone statues of Anpanman, Baikinman, and Jam Ojisan. The statues are child-eye-level in size, so children may notice them first. You can also find other characters like Currypanman. In Nankoku City’s Gomen-machi shopping street, there is “Yanase Takashi Road,” where you can meet seven heroes. In Kami City’s Birafu shopping street, there are characters everywhere and even a stamp rally. Of course, the Kami City Yanase Takashi Memorial Museum is full of them too. The statues are about a 10-minute walk from Kochi Station—enjoy spotting them along the way.
