KAWABA DENEN PLAZA
Den-en Plaza Kawaba (Roadside Station) is a new type of michi-no-eki set in a nature-rich environment at the foot of Mt. Hotaka, where people from seniors to children can enjoy a full day along with plenty of delicious food. There are options like a craft beer restaurant, bakery, soba shop, and pizza shop, so you can enjoy gourmet time together. The farmers’ market sells a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits harvested in Kawaba Village; popular items include blueberries (early July to early August) and corn, grapes, and apples (September to November). At the on-site Blueberry Park, you can experience free blueberry picking from early July to around early August—fun and tasty, enjoying fresh blueberries on the spot. You can also try a pottery wheel class to make your own piece, or let kids play hard in the play zone. There’s also a tourism association office, so it’s fun to stop by just for food and shopping before sightseeing.
