Tendo Hand made Suisya soba noodles

Tendo Teuchi Suishagura Nama Soba is a soba restaurant in Tendo City said to be the “originator of ita-soba” with roots going back to the Edo period. It is about a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station and is popular regardless of the day of the week. The soba uses 100% “hikigurumi” whole-ground buckwheat flour, milled by turning a waterwheel and grinding the buckwheat kernels whole. To preserve aroma, they mill only the amount needed for the day. The soba has great bite and rich fragrance—truly worthy of the “originator” name, letting you fully savor the taste of soba. Alongside ita-soba, another top item is “Tori Chuka” (chicken Chinese-style noodles). Using curly ramen-like noodles in a slightly sweet, light broth, it’s considered exquisite: the noodles cling well to the soup, and the chicken is tender, making it a flavor people crave again after one try. It was also selected as runner-up in a national magazine’s “Japan’s Best Mail-Order Gourmet” feature. You can reach it on foot from the station, and there are many parking lots nearby, so it’s also convenient by car.
