Hoshino Resorts KAI Enshu

Hoshino Resorts KAI Enshu is a hot-spring ryokan in Kanzanji Onsen overlooking Lake Hamana. All guest rooms are lake-view, with large windows offering ever-changing colors of the lake. Rooms are decorated with Hamamatsu’s traditional craft “Enshu Cotton Tsumugi,” creating a warm atmosphere of handwork. There are also more luxurious room options such as Japanese-style rooms with a “tea-area living room” and Western-style rooms with private open-air baths. The hot spring baths operate with a morning/evening gender rotation. Both “Koto no Yu” and “Hana no Yu” have indoor and open-air baths. In the open-air bath of “Hana no Yu,” they offer an “Ocha-dama” beauty bath, where baskets filled with pesticide-free tea leaves float in the water—letting you enjoy a tea-scented onsen unique to a tea-producing region. Kaiseki cuisine featuring Lake Hamana’s famous eel is another highlight. There are also tea-related experiences, making it a trip where you can feel local culture. Around the ryokan, there are many attractions within about a 10-minute walk, including the Lake Hamana sightseeing boat pier, Kanzanji Ropeway, and the amusement park Hamanako Palpal. Access is also good—about 10 minutes by car from the Tomei Expressway Kanzanji Smart IC. From JR “Hamamatsu” Station, a free shuttle bus takes about 45 minutes (may be suspended depending on circumstances), or you can take a route bus about 45 minutes and get off at “Hamanako Bay Street” bus stop, then walk 1 minute.
