Kakegawa Kachouen

Kakegawa Kachoen is an all-weather theme park centered on “interacting with flowers and birds.” The spacious grounds are divided into an indoor area with a large greenhouse and water-lily pool, and an outdoor area with ponds and a ranch-like space. Inside the greenhouse, many flowers bloom year-round and visitors can enjoy close interaction with a variety of birds. Events are also a highlight. Feeding experiences—where birds eat directly from your hand—can feel a bit thrilling at first, but become an adorable, memorable experience. Bird shows feature birds demonstrating special skills, flying low overhead or passing through rings held by the audience—exciting for both adults and children. Photo sessions with owls or penguins are also held several times a day and make for great souvenirs. The climate-controlled glasshouse stays comfortable in both summer and winter, making it a strong recommendation even on bad-weather days. The park is barrier-free, so wheelchairs and strollers can enjoy it comfortably. Access: about a 5-minute drive from Tomei Expressway Kakegawa IC. It’s also about 800 meters from JR “Kakegawa” Station.
