Shiraishiya

Shiraishiya is a ryokan in Tamatsukuri Onsen, Matsue City, themed as a “flower inn” and especially popular with women. Its attentive hospitality—down to small details—has created many repeat guests. There are two large baths (one all hinoki, one granite), and they are switched by time so you can enjoy both, plus an open-air bath for relaxing. A nice touch is that you can use as many towels as you like, making it easy to bathe multiple times. Rooms include Japanese-style, Western-style, and hybrid Japanese-Western rooms designed for comfortable stays. Meals feature the blessings of San’in’s sea and mountains, including shijimi clams. Breakfast includes women-pleasing options like pancakes served with Shiraishiya’s original brown-sugar syrup. Access: about 7 minutes by car from JR Tamatsukuri Onsen Station. The free shuttle bus requires reservation by the previous day.
