Shioyu Naginoto Ryokan
Karatsu Amimoto no Yado Shioyu Nagi no Oto is a small, cozy hot-spring ryokan in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture. In the Michelin Guide Fukuoka–Saga–Nagasaki 2019 Special Edition, it was introduced as a “particularly comfortable ryokan” with 3 pavilions. A highlight is the free private family bath, which offers a luxurious feel like having a room with its own open-air bath. The semi-open-air bath space also includes a sauna, cold bath, and even a living area with TV and sofa, allowing families, friends, or couples to relax together. Cuisine features abundant local specialties from Saga and Karatsu—such as Saga beef, yari-ika (spear squid), and Karatsu mackerel—making meals a major draw. Access: by public transportation, about a 10-minute walk or 5-minute taxi from JR Chikuhi Line / JR Karatsu Line “Hamasaki Station,” with a free shuttle from Hamasaki Station available by reservation. From Fukuoka Airport, it’s about 1 hour by taxi. By car, about 30 minutes (about 20 km) from Maebaru IC on the Nishi-Kyushu Expressway, or about 50 minutes (about 30 km) from Taku IC on the Nagasaki Expressway.
