Chatan Park Sunset Beach

Chatan Park Sunset Beach is a beach in Mihama, Chatan Town, Okinawa, known as one of Japan’s top sunset spots. With endless blue ocean in front of you and a white sandy beach, watching the sun sink into the horizon can feel like you’ve traveled abroad. It’s even said that many couples propose here. BBQ is possible on the beach, making it easy to lose track of time and relax. There is also the Chatan Park Swimming Pool, designed so children can enjoy it as well, with an 8-lane long-course pool. Rentals are available, so you can visit casually. Beyond the beach, the area also has a shopping mall, cinema, and ferris wheel—facilities are very well developed. The nearby Mihama American Village adds to the “urban beach” vibe. On the way back, it’s also recommended to stop by Terme VILLA Chura-Yu (a hot spring facility) for a bath. Access: about 35 minutes by car from Naha Airport toward the Nago direction.
