Naminoue beach
Naminoue Beach is an artificial beach in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture. It is the only swimming beach in Naha City. Located about 15 minutes by car from the airport, it’s a popular spot where many people stop for a final ocean visit before heading home. Marine activities are plentiful and enjoyable for both children and adults. At the far end of the beach there is a cliff, and above it stands Naminoue Shrine. It is also adjacent to Wakasa Seaside Park and the Tsushimamaru Memorial Museum, and there are fast-food shops nearby. Not only in summer but year-round, many tourists visit, making it a very convenient beach where you can enjoy “your last Okinawan sea.” It’s enjoyable at any time of day: daytime sea and sky, sunset views in the evening, and romantic night scenery with cruise ship lights. Toilets and showers are available, and because you can swim and then go straight to the airport or Kokusai-dori, it’s extremely practical. Access is by bus or car from Naha Bus Terminal in about 15 minutes.
