Nara City Tourist Information Center

The Nara City General Tourist Information Center uses the former JR Nara Station building, which has been recognized as a Modern Industrial Heritage site. The information counter supports Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, and Spanish, with staff available who can assist in these languages. Facilities inside include a tablet corner for searching tourist information, a currency exchange machine, baggage storage, a prayer room, a brochure corner, an all-gender/multipurpose restroom, a nursing room, a cafe, and free Wi-Fi. The attached cafe is a Starbucks, open from 7:00 to 21:00, where you can plan your trip while enjoying coffee. Located directly in front of JR Nara Station, the center is unusual in that the building itself is also a sightseeing attraction. At night it is lit up in blue, creating a fantastic atmosphere. It’s a spot you should stop by when visiting Nara. Note that the baggage storage service is paid: 600 yen per item per day regardless of size.
