Tosa Gyoen

Tosa Gyoen is a long-established ryokan in Kochi City. Although it is located in the city center, stepping inside feels like entering a different world. Its standout feature is its variety of relaxing baths, including a Shigaraki-ware tub bath using natural radium ore, an open-air bath, and a “kamakura bath,” all ideal for soothing travel fatigue. Rooms with private open-air baths also let you soak while viewing Kochi Castle. Meals let you enjoy plenty of Kochi’s local cuisine; a nice point is that every course includes katsuo tataki carefully selected each morning. Breakfast is buffet style, so you can eat as much as you like; freshly made rice balls and side dishes are also said to be delicious. Guest rooms range from traditional Japanese rooms to Western rooms, Japanese-Western rooms, and tatami rooms with beds, offering many choices. It is also set up so families with small children can enjoy their stay, and there are single rooms for solo travelers. With Kochi Castle and the Sunday Market nearby, it is a ryokan well-suited to sightseeing. Access is a 5-minute walk from Kochi Station.
