Hyogo Performing Arts Center
The Hyogo Performing Arts Center is a theater and concert hall in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, which opened in 2005. It has three halls—large, medium, and small—and hosts a wide variety of performances, including classical music, opera, theater, ballet, musicals, jazz, choral concerts, and traditional performing arts. Access is about a 2-minute walk from Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station (Hanshin/Hankyu area), and about a 15-minute walk from JR Kobe Line Nishinomiya Station. The shared lobby “Piazza” takes its name from the Italian word meaning “square.” Natural light pours in from the high ceiling, creating a bright and open space. The Piazza, which includes shops and an exhibition space called “Pokke,” is open as a place anyone can casually drop by even when no performances are scheduled. The on-site restaurant “Theatre Le Bois” is produced by Hiroshi Yamaguchi, General Manager and Executive Chef of Kobe Kitano Hotel, and offers hotel-quality “Kobe bistro-style Western cuisine.”
