Active Resorts Urabandai is a nature-rich hotel, and one of its big draws is that you can walk to the Goshikinuma (Five-Colored Ponds) area. From Bishamon-numa it’s about an 8-minute walk back to the hotel—so you can enjoy the scenery right up until breakfast time. The view of Mt. Bandai from Bishamon-numa is one of Urabandai’s signature landscapes, letting you appreciate both the rugged crater walls and the beautiful pond. Beyond nature, the hotel also offers distinctive local dishes and traditional rustic Aizu cuisine passed down through generations. Thanks to its location, it’s also ideal as a base for climbing and trekking. After enjoying Urabandai’s wild nature, you can soothe your fatigue in the hot springs. It’s enjoyable all seasons, and in winter you can enjoy powder snow with three ski areas within about 40 minutes by car.
