トヨタ産業技術記念館
The Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology is a corporate museum located about a 15-minute walk from Nagoya Station (JR, private railways, and subway). It was established in 1911 by Sakichi Toyoda, the founder of the Toyota Group, using the site and buildings of the company’s former test factory. Dedicated to passing on the spirit of "research and creativity" and the importance of "monozukuri" (Japanese craftsmanship and manufacturing) from the modern era into the future, the museum was recognized by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 2007 as a "Modern Industrial Heritage" site. The museum is broadly divided into the "Textile Machinery Pavilion" and the "Automobile Pavilion," where you can learn about the history and achievements of the textile and automotive industries led by the Toyota Group through a vast collection of textile machinery, automobiles, parts, books, and data. With clear explanations from staff and easy-to-understand displays, it is enjoyable even for visitors who are not especially interested in textiles or cars. The facility also includes "Technoland" with 12 play attractions and a kids’ corner, making it a fun destination for the whole family.
