Seifuso Ryokan

Seifuso is a ryokan in Tamatsukuri Onsen, Matsue City, where every room looks out onto a high-quality Japanese garden, offering a relaxed stay in a purely traditional atmosphere. The large bath uses 100% free-flowing (kakenagashi) hot-spring water, and the bath floor is laid with agate stones—agates that were excavated from the site when Seifuso was built. Agate is said to ward off negative energy, and the ryokan emphasizes enjoying that “power” while bathing (as many times as you like). Dinner is seasonal Japanese cuisine featuring abundant local ingredients, served in your room so you can savor ryokan hospitality at your own pace; an attendant times each dish to your rhythm. Breakfast is not served in-room, but still centers on Japanese flavors and local ingredients. With only 15 rooms, it’s positioned as a place to experience the best of classic Japanese ryokan living.
