Kasuien Minami
Kasuien Minami is a hot spring ryokan in Tamatsukuri Onsen, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. Built as an annex of Matsue’s “Minami-kan,” it is popular not only with domestic travelers but also with overseas visitors as a place to create luxurious memories. Tamatsukuri Onsen’s source is called “Kami no Yu” (God’s Hot Water) and is also known as a “beauty bath” with excellent moisturizing effects. Baths include an indoor bath, rock bath, sitting open-air bath, and a sauna. The clean, spacious ryokan has over 100 rooms, and some allow you to enjoy the hot spring privately. Room types include not only Japanese-style rooms but also Western-style rooms. Cuisine focuses on the Sea of Japan’s bounty, along with Minami’s “secret” traditional flavors. Breakfast is a lavish buffet with over 50 Japanese and Western dishes. Day-use bathing is also available at other onsen in the area, so it can be fun to explore. Access: from JR Tamatsukuri Onsen Station, it’s about 5 minutes by taxi, and with advance reservation there is a shuttle bus.
