Rikyu Nishiguchi-Honten

Gyutan Sumiyaki Rikyu Nishiguchi Honten is a nationally famous gyutan (beef tongue) restaurant in Sendai, about a 4-minute walk from JR “Sendai Station” West Exit. The restaurant is on the 5th floor of a building northwest of the station, and one of its attractions is the view—sometimes you can see Sendai Station from inside. Seating includes counter seats, semi-private sunken-kotatsu spaces, and private table rooms, making it comfortable for solo diners, families, and groups alike. Although known as a beef tongue specialist, it also features sashimi and seafood dishes made with fresh catches of the day, plus local Miyagi vegetables and a lineup of over 30 types of sake, so you can enjoy Miyagi’s food culture more broadly. Skilled craftsmen carefully prepare the beef tongue, delivering thick yet tender cuts. Gyutan dishes like gyutan curry are also available. Set meals can be ordered both day and night, so you can enjoy the recommended menu anytime. By subway, it’s a 3-minute walk from Sendai Subway Namboku Line “Sendai Station” North Exit 8.
