Yumeji Art Museum

Yumeji Art Museum is a museum with a main building in Okayama City and an annex in Setouchi City, exhibiting works by Takehisa Yumeji, who was from Okayama. The museum is cute and compact in appearance, and it displays many of Yumeji’s distinctive yet romantic works. Of course, fans travel from afar, but it’s also close to major Okayama attractions like Korakuen and the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art—so even people who drop in out of curiosity can become captivated by the collection. Because the museum isn’t too large, you can enjoy the exhibits from start to finish without getting bored, which is another charm. There are four special exhibitions a year, so visiting during those periods lets you see even more works. There is also a café inside, so you can take a break after viewing the art.
