Kyoto Horse Race Track
Kyoto Racecourse is a horse racing venue in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, managed by the Japan Racing Association (JRA). The nearest station is Yodo Station on the Keihan Line, and the course is also known as ‘Yodo Racecourse’ or simply ‘Yodo.’ A defining feature is the slope at the third turn, known as the ‘Yodo Slope’: it has a height difference of 4.3 m and is the only notable elevation change; the rest of the track is almost flat. In addition to free outdoor standing areas, there are paid reserved seats for comfortable viewing. There are also ‘UMACA Seats’ compatible with JRA’s cashless IC card ‘JRA-UMACA,’ enabling ticketless and cashless betting from your seat. Dining options include Yoshinoya, curry shops, and various restaurants/fast-food/takeout stalls. Facility renovation work (stands, stables, track, etc.) has been underway in connection with the venue’s 100th anniversary in 2025; after the final event on November 1, 2020, Kyoto Racecourse meetings were suspended until March 2023.
