Kyoto Rental Cycle is a bicycle rental shop in central Kyoto. It is conveniently located 7 minutes on foot from Shijo-Karasuma Station and 8 minutes on foot from Karasuma Oike Station, offering excellent access from major transport hubs, nearby hotels, and popular sightseeing areas. The shop has 40 city bicycles and 43 kids’ bicycles and can also accommodate group rentals. A city bicycle without gear shifting is a great value at 1,000 yen per day. A deposit of 3,000 yen per bicycle is required and is returned when you bring the bicycle back. To rent, you must present identification; those without ID will be refused rental. In case of bad weather, if you contact the shop by 10:00 on the day, there is no cancellation fee, which many visitors find reassuring. With a bicycle, you can explore at a relaxed pace while enjoying Kyoto’s streetscapes, including places like Nijo Castle, the Kyoto Imperial Palace, Heian Shrine, and Gion. The Kyoto International Manga Museum and Nishiki Market are also nearby, making it a nice stop when returning your bike.
