Kinoyu Setsugetsuka
“Toki no Yu Setsugetsuka” is a hot spring inn where every guest room comes with a cypress open-air bath. Room types include Japanese-Western style, double Western-style, and a universal-access Western-style room. Some rooms can accommodate up to four people, making it perfect for families or group trips. The hot springs are free-flowing from the Gora Onsen source, and because the inn has two sources, it boasts abundant water volume. Baths include the large open-air bath “Kagaribi,” the indoor bath “Meiso no Yu,” and the “Shigaraki Bath,” each with a different atmosphere. The baths are beautiful both in daytime sunlight filtering through trees and at night with lighting, so try to enjoy both. Another great point is that the three private baths—“Hanagasumi,” “Kangetsu,” and “Manten”—can be used free of charge. For dinner, you can choose either the Japanese kaiseki “Kagetsu,” featuring plenty of local seafood, or “Fugetsu,” where you can enjoy shabu-shabu with domestic beef and sushi. Access: extremely convenient—about a 1-minute walk from Gora Station on the Hakone Tozan Railway.
