Sakura Sakura Onsen
Sakura Sakura Onsen is a hot spring ryokan in the Kirishima Onsen area of Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. It is one of the few inns nationwide with a mud bath (doroyu). The natural hot-spring mud can be applied over the body and face; soaking and then washing it off is said to leave the skin shiny, making it popular with female guests. In addition to the mud bath, there are open-air baths, large public baths, and private baths, and day-use bathing is also possible, enjoying natural yunohana (mineral deposits). You can choose from log-house-style rooms, cottage-style rooms, Japanese-style rooms, and Western-style rooms. The cottage-style rooms have large windowed walls, letting you feel integrated with nature. Dinner features Kagoshima seasonal ingredients including Satsuma black pork, and breakfast is a carefully prepared Japanese/Western buffet. A lunch buffet is also offered, allowing you to extend your stay at the ryokan. It feels like a forest hideaway. Access: get off at JR Kirishima-Jingu Station and take a taxi about 10 minutes. Free parking is available, so arriving by car is also easy.
