Shikisai Ichiriki Hotel

Shikisai Ichiriki is a long-established ryokan with over 100 years of history. From every room you can view the 3,000-tsubo Japanese garden "Suigetsuen," which looks different in every season and becomes even more beautiful when lit up at night. The garden is fed by the Gohyaku River, a clear stream flowing from Lake Inawashiro, and over more than a century it has developed many seasonal expressions. The inn is also known as a prestigious Bandai-Atami Onsen ryokan with ties to the Imperial Family—Emperor Showa and Prince Akishino have stayed here. Bandai-Atami Onsen, said to have opened in the Kamakura period, is an alkaline simple hot spring known for its silky, "beauty-bath" feel and for being gentle enough to soak for a long time without feeling unwell. Another highlight is the luxurious cuisine using seasonal ingredients and local specialties from the sea, mountains, and rivers, enjoyed alongside Fukushima’s local sake. Nearby are places to enjoy the area’s seasons, such as "Kaori no Yuhodo" (a fragrant promenade) filled with lilac and magnolia scents, Gensen Shrine, and Ishimushiro Fureai Ranch.
