Kaisen Izutsu is a seafood restaurant located in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. It is inside the covered shopping arcade near JR Beppu Station and is well known for serving fresh seafood, including fugu, at reasonable prices. With a lineup of seasonal local fish freshly caught in Beppu Bay, it is a highly popular restaurant that satisfies even locals. The most popular lunch item is the seafood bowl: it comes topped with at least 10 kinds of seafood sourced from the market each morning. Other standout dishes include the Ryukyu don set meal, Seki saba sashimi set meal, and Seki aji sashimi set meal, all delicious enough to impress serious food lovers. Of course, toriten is also available. At night, you can enjoy seasonal fish such as Seki aji sashimi paired with local sake. During peak lunch hours, lines form, so it is best to arrive early or go slightly off-peak.
