Phoenix Seagaia Resort

Phoenix Seagaia Resort is Miyazaki Prefecture’s signature integrated resort. During the Kyushu–Okinawa Summit held in 2000, meetings took place at Seagaia’s large convention center. Accommodations include the 43-story, 154-meter-tall high-rise hotel “Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort,” long-stay/workation-oriented lodging “Luxe Hitotsuba,” and villa-style “Cottage Himuka,” among others. The Sheraton features a spa facility operated by Banyan Tree Spa, which can be used even without staying at the hotel. Hot-spring facilities are also extensive: the mineral-rich, ancient waters rise from 1,000 meters underground and strata formed about 10 million years ago, and there are also private hot-spring baths. Phoenix Country Club is a prestigious golf course and hosts the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament every November. Access: by public transportation, take the Seagaia-bound bus from Miyazaki Airport (about 30 minutes) and get off right there; from JR Miyazaki Station, about 15 minutes by taxi, or take the Seagaia bus (about 23 minutes) and get off at “Sheraton Grande.” By car, about 30 minutes from Miyazaki Expressway “Miyazaki IC” via the Hitotsuba Road South Line and Route 11, or about 3 minutes after exiting at Hitotsuba Road “Seagaia IC.”
