Jyoseikan
Jouseikan is a long-established ryokan in Kochi City. It was renovated in 2019, making it newly refreshed and very clean. It is also known as a regular lodging for the imperial family, and even a 100 m² VIP room—normally used only by VIP guests—can be booked. Of course, standard Japanese- and Western-style rooms are also luxurious and carefully designed. Baths include a top-floor panoramic open-air bath and a large public bath where you can spend an elegant time. Even the post-bath lounge lets you relax while looking out over Kochi. Dining ranges from Tosa’s hearty sawachi cuisine and kaiseki to Western dishes, letting you fully indulge in Kochi’s food. Breakfast features open-kitchen dishes served fresh, and you can also try Kochi’s famous “boushi pan.” The panoramic large bath is available for day-use bathing combined with meals. The ryokan also sells bento, osechi, cakes, and holds sweets fairs, making it a popular gourmet spot with many repeat visitors. In summer, it also runs a beer hall. Access is about 10 minutes by car from JR Kochi Station.
