The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko
The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko is a resort hotel located on the shore of Lake Ashi. Since a two-year renovation project was completed in 2019, you can expect a clean and comfortable stay. The property is divided into a main building and an annex. The main building offers the most affordable double rooms, twin rooms with selectable views (“Mt. Fuji View,” “Garden View,” or “Lake View”), and a 76㎡ suite. The annex has two types: a spacious 40㎡ Superior Twin and a Princess Room. The open-air bath facing Lake Ashi uses “Takogawa Onsen,” one of the Hakone Seventeen Hot Springs, as its source. You can also use the nearby day-use hot spring facility “Ryuguden Honkan” next door at a special rate. It offers open-air baths with views of both Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji, as well as a Finnish sauna—so it’s also recommended to enjoy hot-spring hopping. Access: take the Izu Hakone bus and get off at “The Prince Hakone Ashinoko” or “Hakone-en,” then it’s right nearby; about 50 minutes by taxi from Mishima Station (Tokaido Shinkansen).
