HINATAMI-KAN.
Shima Onsen Hinatamikan is a small, quiet hot spring inn with only 10 rooms, located in the remote Hinatami area at the far end of the Shima Onsen region, where rich nature thrives. Founded in 1905 (Meiji 38), Hinatamikan welcomes guests with the concept: “For everyone who visits with this day and this place in mind—meet a quality ‘ordinary.’ We deliver a precious one-night stay for you.” The inn draws the hot spring called “Gomuso-no-Yu,” said to be the origin source of Shima Onsen and a rare spring used by only a small number of inns. To let guests enjoy this historic source slowly, the three different baths—Keimei-no-Yu, Hotaru-no-Yu, and Maya-no-Yu—are offered on a private-reservation basis (kashikiri). Dinner features fully handmade creative Japanese cuisine centered on seasonal ingredients from Gunma, letting you savor the flavors of the four seasons. How about spending a healing holiday soaking slowly in Shima’s origin hot spring and enjoying seasonal local dishes?
