Shibamasa World

Shibamasa World is a theme park in Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture. Loved by locals under the catchphrase "A Play Theme Park of the Sea of Japan and Grasslands: Shibamasa World, Six Kingdoms," it offers a wide range of attractions for both children and adults, including an amusement park, pools, putt golf, a campground, ground golf, Kids Paradise, puzzle-solving and escape activities, and open lawn areas. Simply relaxing on the soft grass while looking out over the Sea of Japan can feel like a special non-everyday escape. Its pool complex is said to be one of the largest in Japan, impressive enough that people come every year from neighboring prefectures, and it is especially popular with families who plan their trip around the pool and camping. It isn’t only a summer destination—winter also brings various attractions and illuminations to enjoy. To get to Shibamasa World, it is about a 15-minute drive from Kanazu IC on the Hokuriku Expressway, and in summer only, temporary buses run from JR Awaraonsen Station.
