Kasuitei

Kasuitei is a ryokan where nearly all rooms face the Sea of Japan, offering views together with Mt. Daisen. Rooms come in six categories: spacious traditional Japanese “washitsu,” top-floor “wa-modern” (Japanese room + twin beds) where you can see the Sea of Japan even from bed, elegantly rounded “special rooms,” “Western rooms” ideal for solo travel or business, “Japanese-Western rooms with open-air bath” where you can enjoy the inn’s own source in your room, and large rooms suited to groups and big families. The hot spring “Hosei no Izumi” is a private on-site source the inn drilled. It is a sodium-calcium chloride spring, with a high temperature of 78.2°C and pH 7.4, and is described as beneficial for chronic gynecological conditions, joint pain, bruises/sprains, and general health promotion. Dining emphasizes seasonal local flavors. “Tottori wagyu,” long famed since the Edo period, is described as juicy, meltingly tender, and fluffy in texture. Matsuba crab landed at Sakaiminato—one of Japan’s crab capitals—is also a must; beyond boiled or grilled, the local specialty “Matsuba crab sashimi” is especially recommended (winter-limited). Access: by train, take a local bus from JR San’in Main Line “Yonago Station” (about 20 minutes). Yonago Station is also reachable by highway/night buses from Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Okayama, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. By car, it’s about 10 minutes from Yonago JCT via Route 431.
