Hotel Iyaonsen

Hotel Iya Onsen is a hotel famous for its source-fed open-air bath by a clear stream, reached by cable car, and offering scenic Iya Valley views in every season. There are 20 rooms blending Japanese and Western touches, including special rooms with open-air baths overlooking the valley plus footbaths, rooms with panoramic baths, and rooms with moon-viewing decks. To reach the source-flowing open-air bath at the valley bottom, you take a cable car for about 5 minutes, slowly descending while enjoying a grand panorama. After soaking, you can relax at “Madoromi no Hotori” by the Iya River, listening to wind and flowing water. Dinner is a kaiseki meal using as much local Miyoshi/Tokushima produce as possible, including Genpei potatoes, thick shiitake mushrooms, and Iya tofu—traditional flavors with deep, nourishing taste. Breakfast offers both Japanese and Western choices, and there is also a breakfast buffet. Inside the hotel, beautiful murals inspired by Iya’s nature delight visitors’ eyes. Access includes a shuttle service from JR Oboke Station.
