Senichi Hoshino Memorial Museum
The Senichi Hoshino Memorial Museum is located in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture—the hometown of baseball superstar Senichi Hoshino—and attracts baseball fans from all over Japan. It’s easy to visit, about a 15-minute walk from JR Kurashiki Station, and admission is reasonably priced. Inside, there are many exhibits—about 450 items—including uniforms, spikes, gloves, trophies, and photos actually used during his playing career. Visitors range from people who cheered for him as a pro player, to those who became fans during his manager years, to young baseball players passionate about the sport. Even people not deeply into baseball often know his name, given his status as a national star—so it’s a recommended sightseeing spot when touring Kurashiki. There is no dedicated parking, so be sure to check nearby parking lots in advance.
