Washuzan Highland
Brazilian Park Washuzan Highland is a theme park in Kurashiki City with a uniquely fun atmosphere that feels far removed from Kurashiki’s traditional townscape. True to its name, the park is filled with a Brazil theme. Foreign dancers appear in the park and there are participatory events that everyone can enjoy, letting you experience a lively, “abroad-like” vibe. It is famous for the Sky Cycle, said to be one of the scariest rides in the world: while pedaling, you can look out over the Seto Inland Sea including the Seto Ohashi Bridge. The views are spectacular, but if you’re afraid of heights, it may be so thrilling you won’t be able to enjoy the scenery—so be prepared. There is also a zoo inside the park, making it enjoyable for the whole family, from adults focused on attractions to small children focused on interacting with animals. You can also watch authentic samba performed by Brazilian dancers, so join in the excitement. Annual passes are also sold; if you plan to visit frequently, it can be a great deal—worth checking.
