Ohara Museum Of Art

Ohara Museum of Art consists of three main buildings with architecture reminiscent of ancient Greece. Each building displays many paintings, sculptures, and other artworks, featuring the collections of Magosaburo Ohara, Monet’s Water Lilies, Western paintings, Japanese paintings, prints, and more—an especially rich volume of exhibits. Because it takes considerable time to view everything carefully, it’s recommended to plan with plenty of time. The museum is proactive about accessibility, and the official website provides a route map for wheelchair users to help ensure smooth viewing. The on-site museum shop sells goods such as calendars and food items, and also offers reproductions that art lovers will appreciate, ranging from a few hundred yen to tens of thousands of yen—worth a stop for souvenirs. Note: there is no dedicated museum parking, so use nearby parking lots.
