Minami Sanriku Hotel Kanyo
Minamisanriku Hotel Kanyo is a resort hotel famous for its open-air baths with panoramic ocean views and its fresh seafood. The location is outstanding: from the large bath and open-air bath, an unobstructed expanse of sea spreads out before you. Especially in the early morning, you can watch the sunrise over the ocean from the bath for a special experience. Dinner features fresh Minamisanriku seafood, including the signature “abalone dancing grill.” In sea-side rooms, seabirds may visit, creating a fun interaction. The hot springs also offer day-use bathing. Access: a free shuttle bus runs from JR “Sendai Station” East Exit—one departure daily at 13:30, reservation required. From Kesennuma Line BRT “Rikuzen-Togura Station,” the hotel can provide free pickup if reserved (the station is about a 25-minute walk otherwise). By car, it’s about 20 minutes from Sanriku Expressway “Tosei-Tsuyama IC.” With Kesennuma and Ishinomaki nearby, driving while enjoying Sanriku’s coastal scenery is also recommended.
