Kyoto Samurai & Ninja Museum with Experience
The Kyoto Samurai Ninja Experience Museum is a Japanese cultural experience facility located in central Kyoto near Nishiki Market, where visitors can enjoy hands-on samurai and ninja experiences. Visits are conducted as reservation-only guided tours, with a duration of approximately 60 minutes. During the tour, guests can view traditional samurai armor and helmets, as well as swords mainly from the Muromachi and Edo periods. The samurai experience allows participants to wear armor costumes and practice drawing, holding, swinging, and sheathing a sword. The ninja experience lets visitors dress in ninja attire and try throwing shuriken and using blowguns. Photography is allowed during the experiences, making for memorable travel souvenirs. As all activities are held indoors, the museum is recommended even on rainy days. The museum shop also sells replica swords. In addition to Japanese, the museum offers guidance in English and Chinese, making it popular with international visitors. Located close to Nishiki Market, it is easy to combine a visit with street food sampling and shopping.
