Sea healing

Kaiyu is a hot spring hotel in Tosashimizu City, Kochi Prefecture. It stands on a hillside overlooking the highly rated, peaceful sea of Oki-no-hama (Oki Beach), and is known for high guest satisfaction. This family-run, relaxed hotel also has baths; it uses cold spring water heated with firewood. The large bath is made of granite, and combining the spring with firewood heating is said to enhance natural healing. A day-use private bath is also available for 5,000 yen. With natural-style meals, wonderful scenery, and slow time, you can truly unwind. Oki-no-hama is a natural beach stretching 1.5 km, and you may even see sea turtles laying eggs. You can snorkel, play in a “secret river,” and watch the sunrise rise over the horizon, feeling at one with nature. Rooms include mini-kitchens, enabling long stays. Dinner is served as large shared dishes around one big table. Breakfast includes freshly picked fruit and homemade jam. Access: take the Kochi Seinan Kotsu bus from Nakamura Station and get off at “Kaiyu-no-Yu-mae” stop, right nearby.
