Otakinoyu

Kusatsu Onsen Otakinoyu is a popular day-use hot spring facility in the famous Kusatsu Onsen. Otakinoyu offers open-air baths as well as large indoor baths and open-air baths for both men and women, along with the “Awase-yu” experience where you move through tubs of different temperatures, and private rental baths (individual rooms) are also available. It is well equipped with a massage service, café/lounge, and a restaurant. There is also a parking lot that can accommodate 100 cars, making it easy to visit by car. Whether you want to relax after a day of mountain activities or skiing, or spend the morning soaking in hot springs, you can enjoy a relaxing time in the baths that luxuriously use the Nikawa source—famous in Kusatsu as a “beauty hot spring” with abundant water volume. As a recommended event, the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month are “Milky White Bath” days. On these days, during the cleaning of the hot-spring deposit (yunohana) that accumulates in the distribution pipes, you can enjoy a special milky-white water—normally clear hot spring water turns into a cloudy white “Nikawa source” bath.
