豊田市美術館
Toyota Municipal Museum of Art is a public art museum in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. Designed by architect Yoshio Taniguchi, it was built on the former site of Koromo Castle. The museum also includes the Setsuro Takahashi Memorial Museum, which houses many works by Setsuro Takahashi. The building has three floors above ground and two below, and the grounds include an artificial pond that creates a carefully composed landscape with the architecture. With many areas where the building itself feels like art, exploring the site and discovering details is part of the enjoyment. Set on a hill, it offers excellent views and is in a prime location close to the city center. Beyond exhibitions, the museum also features a restaurant and a tea room, and it actively hosts workshops. With a calm, adult atmosphere, it is a tourism spot where many visitors come once and spend hours enjoying the art in depth. The auditorium is also used for lectures and concerts, making it a relaxing cultural space for local residents. Access to the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art is about a 15-minute walk from Toyotashi Station on the Meitetsu line. Because the route is uphill, taking a taxi is recommended if you are not confident about walking.
