Uradome Kaigan Island Hopping Cruise

Uradome Coast is a coastline within the San’in Kaigan Geopark, shaped over a very long time by the harsh waves of the Sea of Japan. A geopark is a UNESCO-led global initiative that not only protects natural heritage but also uses it for regional revitalization and education. “Uradome Coast Island Cruise” is an activity where you tour this magnificent, graceful coastline by sightseeing boat. There are three types of island cruises. (1) The standard “Island Cruise” is the most affordable option—a relaxing cruise where you can enjoy views of the beautiful ria coastline and be amazed by the water clarity (said to reach 25 meters). (2) The “Small Boat Island Cruise” is more adventurous, entering caves and inlets that larger sightseeing boats cannot access. (3) The “Glass-bottom Boat Cruise” features a boat with a glass floor, letting you clearly observe the underwater scenery—an experience made possible by the area’s high water transparency. Access to the Uradome Coast Island Cruise pier: by car, about 22 km / 30 minutes from Tottori IC (Tottori Expressway) via National Route 9, or 26 km / 40 minutes via Prefectural Route 43. By public transport, take the Nihon Kotsu Bus Iwai Line from JR San’in Main Line “Tottori Station” bound for “Kabushima,” ride about 40 minutes, get off at “Shima-meguri Yuran-sen Noriba-mae” bus stop, and it’s right there.
