Suginoi Palace

Suginoi Palace is a facility at Suginoi Hotel in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, known for its terraced, panoramic hot spring baths. One of Japan’s largest open-air baths features a series of large “tanayu” (terraced baths), and beyond them the scenery stretches out in a breathtaking view over Beppu Bay and as far as Cape Sada in Shikoku. Offering an overwhelming sense of openness even among Beppu’s many hot springs, it is a highly popular tourist destination. Day-use bathing is available, so many visitors come for a relaxing soak on a day trip. The Aqua Garden is a hot spring pool popular with children; by wearing swimsuits, you can enjoy the outdoor pool even in winter. The facility also offers fango therapy, float healing baths, and at night, fountain art performances, making it lively with families and couples. There is also a sauna, and it is possible to move between the Aqua Garden and the terraced baths.
