Shinwa No Sato Shirousagi

Michi-no-Eki “Shinwa no Sato Hakuto” is a roadside station located right in front of Hakuto Coast, famous for the myth of the “White Rabbit of Inaba.” It’s also a restaurant known for live seafood dishes featuring local specialties, and it offers a wide selection of Hakuto-themed souvenirs as well as other regional products. In addition to fresh seafood, coffee is a hidden gem here: you can enjoy “sunayaki coffee,” made by roasting Brazilian beans using sand from the Tottori Sand Dunes—an essential stop for coffee lovers. As a drive-in, it’s easy to use: the rest area is open 24 hours, and from the second-floor terrace you can enjoy a sweeping view of the Sea of Japan, making it perfect for a scenic break. Access: by car, about 12 km (around 15 minutes) from central Tottori City via National Route 9. By public transport, take a Hinomaru Bus (bound for Kano) from JR Tottori Station for about 40 minutes, get off at “Hakuto Jinja-mae,” then walk about 5 minutes.
