Daisen Makiba Milk No Sato
Daisen Makiba Milk-no-Sato is a scenic spot where you can enjoy a sweeping panorama of Mt. Daisen’s great nature and even the Yumigahama area on the Sea of Japan side. In this natural setting, you can try a variety of hands-on experiences—mock milking, ice cream making, confectionery making, and craft workshops (all fully reservation-based, so confirm in advance). The biggest crowd-pleaser is the rich soft-serve made by Daisen Dairy Agricultural Cooperative, famous for “Shirobara Milk.” The restaurant also offers recommended dishes like “Benizuwai Crab Cream Croquettes” and gratin made with plenty of their own dairy products. Barbecue is also available with no special preparation needed—come empty-handed. Additionally, from July 25 to August 23, the facility runs “summer time,” letting visitors enjoy beautiful night views. Access: from JR San’in Main Line “Yonago Station,” it’s about 19 km; roughly 30 minutes by taxi.
