Bukkake-Udon Furuichi

Bukkake-tei Honpo Furuichi Nakaten is a restaurant serving Kurashiki’s famous specialty “bukkake udon.” Many people know bukkake udon, but may not realize its home is Kurashiki. Bukkake-tei Honpo is a very popular chain with locations both inside and outside Okayama Prefecture, and it is also highly rated on restaurant comparison/reservation sites. The business dates back about 100 years, and it won the national championship in a nationwide udon competition two years in a row (2016 and 2017). Kurashiki City in Okayama is close to Kagawa, famous for Sanuki udon, so some visitors even do udon comparisons. Although udon is the star, the menu also includes soba, rice bowls, shaved ice, zenzai, and other sweets—very broad. Because it’s near the station, it’s popular with tourists as well as local businesspeople, and it’s often crowded even if you shift your lunch time slightly.
