Yonezawa Beef Dining Bekoya
Yonezawa-gyu Dining Bekoya is a restaurant run by a butcher shop, located about a 3-minute walk from JR Yonezawa Station. In an atmospheric interior that uses relocated old folk-house architecture and is accented with pale wood, you can enjoy carefully selected Yonezawa beef in many styles—yakiniku, shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, steak—as well as a wide range of side dishes down to light pickles, all prepared with strong attention to ingredients and flavor. At night, subdued indirect lighting creates a calm, refined mood, making it a good choice for travel dates, birthdays, or anniversary dinners. Because it’s popular, reserving ahead for weekends and holidays is recommended to avoid waiting. Lunch is a particularly good value, letting you enjoy plenty of delicious beef at a more affordable price. Bekoya is operated by Matsukawa Bento, founded in 1899 (Meiji 32), which also produces the well-known station bento “Gyuniku Dojo” made with Yonezawa beef—an example of the long history of ongoing refinement behind the restaurant’s quality.
