Tachibanaya

Tachibanaya is a long-established ryokan located about 5 minutes from JR Atsumi Onsen Station by shuttle car (available with reservation). With a 370-year history, it has an exceptionally high number of repeat guests. Around the inn are beautiful gardens with a pond where colorful koi swim and seasonal flowers bloom, and you can enjoy the view even from the lounge. Tachibanaya offers a range of guest rooms, including 10 rooms in the detached “Kansuiso,” each with a private indoor bath fed by Atsumi Onsen’s source; rooms with a sunken kotatsu; and Western twin rooms for guests who prefer beds. Particularly noteworthy are the “Welcome Baby” rooms in the East Wing, showcasing Tachibanaya’s thoughtful hospitality: baby futons and dedicated chairs are provided, fragile furnishings are avoided, and electrical outlets have safety covers, so families with babies and small children can stay with peace of mind. The baths include a hinoki women’s open-air bath, a nature-filled men’s open-air bath, and a spacious bath area with washing stations for 16+ people—making it a welcoming inn for both adults and children.
