Uno Port

Uno Port is a port in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, with several ferry routes across the Seto Inland Sea. It is especially used by travelers heading from Honshu to Shodoshima in Kagawa. From JR Okayama Station, transfer to the Uno Line; from “Uno Station,” it’s a short walk to the port. However, trains that go without transfers are infrequent, so if you want to avoid transfers, plan carefully. Nearby is the art piece “Uno no Chinu,” made from PET bottles, cans, and household trash. Its colorful, striking presence makes it a great photo spot. Because it is made of garbage and also deteriorates from sea wind, it is replenished with new waste from time to time—so parts change little by little, and some repeat visitors come to see the evolving appearance. There are also other unique art works displayed, and seeing art scattered across the open port area is another highlight. Ferries operate to Shodoshima, Takamatsu, and Naoshima.
